NC State’s Sustainable Procurement Protects the Environment

Along with Pennsylvania State University and Johns Hopkins University, NC State’s Procurement & Business Services is gaining national attention for its sustainable procurement initiatives and focus on historically underutilized businesses.

One of the most efficient and sustainable procurement initiatives is the MarketPlace, a self-service, e-procurement tool that automates the full procurement to payment process, saving both time and money. In a recent article published by The Chronicle of Higher Education, Sharon Loosman, director of Procurement & Business Services at NC State, explains how integrating Amazon Business into the MarketPlace has allowed colleges and departments to buy what they need in a single location.
