Your PCard is an essential tool for managing university travel expenses, covering everything from flights and hotels to parking and local transportation.
Before your next trip, take a few minutes to review this checklist to ensure your PCard is ready to go, preventing hiccups and declines on the road.
- Register for Global Card Access (GCA): Your first step! Always register with GCA before traveling, whether domestically or internationally.
- Know Your Personal Identification Number (PIN): While some merchants might let you bypass the PIN, attempting this often causes an immediate card decline. Always have your PIN handy to ensure smooth transactions.
- Check Your Spending Limits: Familiarize yourself with your cards’ spending limits. If you anticipate an expense exceeding the standard $5,000 transaction limit, submit a Temporary Change to Spending Limits request in the PCard Center before your departure.
- Confirm Spending Profiles: If your itinerary includes official entertainment activities, you are responsible for double-checking the required entertainment profile has been added to your card.
The Card Services Team has compiled a comprehensive document with tips on traveling with your PCard and more. Review the PCard Travel Tips before finalizing your next travel arrangements!
